Needs expansion to all the parks, and somehow to include AK and Wilderness Lodges. Cast members tell us that it is very expensive to run and maintain - but as a vision for the future, which Walt advocated, it is worth it. Sure beats the overcrowded busses during opening and closing of the parks.
These boats are too slow!!! A trip from MGM to Epcot takes forever!
I have taken the Magical Express two times (12/05 & 4/06). In both cases our luggaged arrived extremely late. In December, we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Our flight arrived around 4:30pm and we did not get our luggage until 9:30pm and that was only after going to the holding area in the hotel and picking it up ourselves. In April, we were staying in the very full All-Star Music Resort. Our flight came in about the same time, 4:30pm, but our luggage did not arrive to our room until 1:30 in the morning! Fortunately we had learned a little from the first trip and packed our 3 year olds things in a carry-on. Next time we will take advantage of the shuttle but we will be claiming our own bag and carrying them on the shuttle with us. The saddest part was the canned excuses we were given from several cast members & never an apology.
Rode DME last Sept (05), and had few problems. The bus takes you to 3 to 4 resorts and drops you off. The Wait at the airport is seems long, but everyone\'s always impatient to get to WDW. The movie was entertaining for 1st timers and kids. It\'s not a taxi or limo it\'s Disney\'s form of mass transit. If I had to pay for it, I would look into other options. If your looking for a the cheapest (free) to get from MCO to WDW it\'s the way to go.
Great way to travel...unique, and you get to see lots of other things en route to your destination with decent views due to its height. However, whilst enjoyable and a different way to get around, it can get VERY busy and to be honest, you wont want to queue for ages just to get onto transport! Choose you journey times carefully! Avoid early evening when everyone wants to get to a show at EPCOT. Otherwise, enjoy!
Easyiest way to the World, You dont have to worry about bags, a rental car, or expensive taxi fee, because Magical Express is FREE!
We accidentally rolled up at the transportation centre and saw a huge queue for the monorail and then noticed a wee ferry approaching. There was a very short line so we haopped on and within 15 mins or so were right outside Magic Kingdom! A great way to travel...comfortable, fast, calm, and great views of the places most people cant afford to stay in!!
You know, I think it really depends on where your staying as to the quality recieved in bus transportation. I stayed at the All Stars and at times the line is horrendous and you may have to wait for several buses to come and go before you make your way back to the hotel. This happened to me after seeing Phantasmic. The line for the bus stretched for miles it seemed. I don't like it when the bus makes various stops picking people up before it even gets to you. That means you may well be standing for much of the journey. I think each stop at each resort should have sole access to the bus. Having said all of that, during my 2 week stay, the system worked fine for the large part, it's just you are guaranteed some issues at some point. It's a necessary evil, but the cast members try their best to keep everyone happy. And it beats driving and parking and walking for miles to get to the park entrance!
